Today Apple released what is almost certainly the final major update to iOS and iPadOS 14. 14.8 includes a number of critical bug fixes in addition to security fixes. While the upcoming iOS/iPadOS 15 is backwards compatible with all iOS/iPadOS 14 capable devices, some customers may prefer to remain on 14. This update ensures for those customers the most stable release possible with the current set of features and capabilities.

For users running the iOS 15 beta, it’s likely that these security and stability updates are included in the current beta or will at the very least be included in the Gold Master version of iOS 15. With Apple’s major event taking place tomorrow, we’ll likely know the release date of the consumer facing version of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.

Will you be updating to 14.8? Or will you hold off until 15? Let me know in the comments!
