New Apple Fitness+ features coming 10/01. For anybody hoping to improve their health and fitness (or hasn’t already broken their new year resolutions), Apple is adding some new features to its home fitness service on Monday.
Collections
The first new feature is called collections. When it goes live you’ll be able to choose from a selection of highly curated workouts and meditations including yoga. The workouts are paired with Apple Music playlists as with all Apple Fitness+ workouts and you can download the playlist after you finish the session.
The new collections are divided into 6 categories:
- 30-Day Core Challenge
- Improve your posture with Pilates
- Perfect your Yoga with balance poses
- Run your first 5K
- Strengthen your back, stretch your hips
- Wind down for a better bedtime
Each collection contains sessions from a variety of Apple’s world-class Fitnsss+ coaches and trainers. And they’re available in different levels of intensity and length depending on your needs.
Time to Run
The second new feature is Time to Run. Similar to the Time to Walk feature introduced last year, this is a new audio experience designed to motivate you, improve your consistency and develop good running habits free from injury.
Each Time to Run episode has a different focus and features routes in iconic locations. There will be three episodes available at launch on Monday that feature Miami, London and Brooklyn with new episodes coming every subsequent Monday.
Time to Walk has historically featured celebrities including Dolly Parton, Shawn Mendes, Uzo Aduba and Draymond Green. In an episode launching on Monday, actress Rebel Wilson will feature. In new episodes of the upcoming Time to Run, celebrities featured will include Chris Meloni, Chelsea Handler, Sugar Ray and Hasan Minhaj.
As with all Apple Fitness+ content, an Apple Watch together with BlueTooth headphones such as AirPods are required.
