Today, Apple announced an all-new app for planning and organising events. The app is designed to make it easy for people to create event invites and for recipients to RSVP quickly. Invitations can be received and responded to from both Apple devices, as well as Android and Windows devices.

Apple has designed invites to integrate deeply with its other services like iCloud, Apple Music, and Apple Intelligence. When creating an invite, you can build a shared photo library that both the host and event attendees can add to. You can also create a custom Apple Music playlist for the event, which is shared and contained within the invite. Details like the event time, date, and location can be shared. And further integration is built in with mapping services to help attendees find the event and get directions.

One thing to note is that creating an event requires an iCloud+ subscription. If you have an iCloud storage upgrade for things like iCloud backups, including the lowest 50GB tier, then you already have iCloud+. You don’t, however, need a subscription to receive the events and to RSVP. What stands out to me is the similarities with Apple’s journal app. Apple is deeply integrating several services to create one unified experience. I really like this approach. Not just because of the showcase of ease and simplicity. But because it creates additional value from services you’re already paying for in a seamless and delightful way.

As mentioned, even Apple Intelligence is integrated with Invites. You’re able to use its Image Playground feature to create cover art for the invite. Or if you’d prefer, you can select your own photo or pre-made art from Apple. Either way, there are plenty of ways to customise and send a personalised invite with an easy way to keep track of attendees and RSVPs.
You can download Invites from the App Store today.
