Well, I’m back! Officially. And what better day to make a comeback with a new project than on the day of an Apple event?! This is part 1 of macOS Reinvented. I’m endeavouring to recreate every default California-themed, macOS wallpaper.
To do so, I’m reimagining every wallpaper, drawing out the design by hand and doing all of the colour work in Procreate. In the process I’m paying great care and respect to the original work while putting my own twist on a classic. And in a way that shows reverence to the artist that created the original piece. No nonsense and no AI slop.
In addition to the new project, I’ve rebuilt the website from the ground up. Every detail has been considered from the smallest details like the typography, to much larger ones like the introduction of a system-enabled dark mode. Hopefully you can see and feel the improvements, especially on mobile.
So without further delay, here’s Mavericks Remastered. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned recently, it’s that you can’t fight the waves. But you can learn how to surf 🏄
